Liège Guillemins Trainstation: This Is What We Do

As I wrote yesterday, the Guillemins trainstation (amazing photographs!!!) is a landmark building by Santiago Calatrava that reminds us somehow of the Chrysler Superbowl video.

Why? Because once (like Pittsburg in Pennsylvania):

“Liège was one of the most important steel-making centres in Europe. Starting in 1817, John Cockerill extensively developed the iron and steel industry. The industrial complex of Seraing was the largest in the world. Although now a shadow of its former self, steel production and the manufacture of steel goods remain importan”

What does the Liège region know about Luxury? huh?  What does a city (and it’s hyperlocal bloggers) that has been to hell and back, know about the finer things in life? Well I tell you, more then most.

Many folks from Limburg immigrated to Liège when it’s steel production flourished!

The mainstream papers are not interested in hyperlocal news by hardworking small businesses and bloggers!

Because when it comes to luxury, it’s as much about where it’s from as who it’s for. In other words, modern marketing is a lot about  consistency as it is about  “the big idea”. As Adam Singer explains:
